LTSC

Introduction

So I've been using Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 for a few months now, and I have to say, it's been a better experience compared to when the current computer I got was on Win11. The lack of bloatware, the stability, and the overall performance improvements have been fantastic.

If your wondering what is LTSC, it stands for Long-Term Servicing Channel. It's a version of Windows designed for stability and long-term support, which is mostly used for enterprises that require functionality more then features. It doesn't get feature updates like the regular versions of Windows, but it does get security updates and bug fixes.

Basically, It's just windows without any Bloatware, less stuff and more support. Which it should have been THE windows that everyone wants, but Microsoft decided to make to be a dick and shoved it behind a paywall. Although there are ways to get around that and use LTSC as your main driver.

My Issues with Windows 11

First of all, it's just fucking Win10 with a different look and more AI and Edge intergration. Which I FUCKING hate the intergration that 11 has. At least with Windows 10 you can REMOVE Microsoft Edge with some trickery.

My 2nd issue with Windows 11, this is mostly just an issue from mine but I've been getting so many GPU related issues that has ONLY been happening on Win11 itself. Even moving to LTSC 11 or trying another version didn't help either. This issue was actually the final straw for me because I straight up forced myself to back up EVERYTHING just get back to Win10 (IoT LTSC 2021 to be exact, IoT meaning Internet of Things) and I do not regret downgrading.

I would sometimes have very random explorer.exe crashes, which I have no idea the root cause but I'm just glad that it doesn't happen anymore.

And finally, I just fucking hate Microsoft themselves. I would love to give linux a try as a daily driver, but I feel like it's not really for me yet. I know it's a great open sourse OS, and I know it's mostly used for servers. But for the desktop users, it's just not for me yet and I'm sure there are some people who feel the same way.

LTSC FTW!

With all honesty, if you want a windows OS and you only care about functionality more then just features. LTSC is for you, and I believe it should be THE windows OS that everyone should use.

So that's it for this blog post, I hope you enjoyed reading. Cya next time!

PS: If you want to know how to get LTSC, use a site like MAS (Microsoft Activation Script) there's also a way to bypass the actvation BS.
